Invitation to a briefing by the Swedish Police post Drottninggatan on 27 October at 14.00

Published

A number of Embassies wrote to the Protocol Department following the tragic event on Drottninggatan on 7 April, asking for better information regarding their citizens. In our reply letter, the Protocol Department promised to organise a briefing with the Swedish Police on security issues in relation to Special Police Operations. You are welcome to a briefing on Friday 27 October at 14.00 at the Rosenbad Conference Centre (on the corner of Drottninggatan and Fredsgatan).

After a short introduction by the Protocol Department, Chief Superintendent Jonas Hysing will brief on Special Police Operations. Police Commissioner Erik Widstrand will then, together with Mr Hysing, talk on the terror attack on 7 April. As a third point, the Head of the International Office Section, Sandra Hultgren Stenström and Detective Superintendent Eva von Vogelsang will talk on information to foreign Embassies in case of a major incident in Sweden. There will be time for questions on these matters.

As usual, we will finish by coffee and mingle around three tables where you may as questions on the Swedish Identification Commission, on Embassy security and on Special Police Operations.

Please note that security checks will be thorough, so the meeting will not start until 14.30, but please arrive for 14.00 and be prepared to show your MFA id-card (or passport).

Please confirm your assistance (name, function and Embassy) to [email protected] before 15.00 on 26 October.
