Additional funds to appropriation for cooperation in the Baltic Sea region
The Government proposes allocating an additional SEK 10 million to the appropriation for cooperation in the Baltic Sea region.
This appropriation is used to cover expenses for cooperation in the Baltic Sea region, initiatives in Russia regarding the environment, human rights and democracy, and the Swedish Institute’s Baltic Sea cooperation. Recent developments in the region make issues concerning freedom of expression, disinformation, independent media, cyber security and contacts with civil society increasingly important. There is a need to step up measures in these areas.
