Regarding the murder of LGBT activist David Kato in Uganda
Ugandan police have confirmed that one of Uganda's leading LGBT activists, David Kato, was murdered in his home on Wednesday.
"I was greatly dismayed to hear about the murder of David Kato. Mr Kato was one of the courageous leaders of the LGBT movement in Uganda. His efforts on behalf of human rights have a lasting value. The police and the authorities must now speedily conduct a thorough investigation so that the person or persons responsible can be tried and brought to justice," says Minister for International Development Cooperation Gunilla Carlsson.
