Successful trainee mingle at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs
Trainees originating from all over the world but with the thing in common that they now live in Stockholm and work as trainees within foreign administration, met and shared experiences with each other during a pleasant evening last week at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in Stockholm.
The Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs has constantly around 50 trainees working at the different departments as a part of their university studies. It is an attractive opportunity for students to gain work experience within fields of for instance law, political science, economics and communication. Many of the embassies in Stockholm also receive trainees from their respective countries.
Last week, on Thursday the 29th of September, all trainees at the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the foreign missions in Stockholm had the chance to meet at a Trainee Mingle, arranged by the Protocol Department. The purpose of the event was to enable networking and experience-sharing among the trainees. It was exceptionally popular and turned out very successfully. Countries represented, except for Sweden, were the Czech Republic, Colombia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary and Mongolia.
In order to facilitate further networking and information sharing between the trainees, a facebook group, named "Trainees at the Swedish MFA and foreign missions in Stockholm" has been created. You reach the group by clicking on the link to the right.
