In the Budget Bill for 2013, the Government proposed that state funding to religious communities be increased by SEK 15 million as of 2013. Of the increased funding, SEK 10 million will be used for premises grants, SEK 3 million for boosting funding for spiritual care in health care and SEK 2 million to other forms of funding.
The Swedish Government to strengthen state support to religious communities
The support that religious communities can apply for is being increased by SEK 10 million. Support to the Swedish Commission for Government Support to Faith Communities, that allocates contributions to religious communities, is being increased by SEK 2 million. In total, the area 'Religious communities' will be allocated SEK 67 million in 2012.
