Shorter queues for appeals and simplified building regulations for student housing
Relatively little housing has been built in Sweden over the past 20 years. There is therefore a considerable housing shortage, especially in the countrys growth regions. To address this housing shortage, the Government presented several initiatives in the Budget Bill for 2013, including shortening processing times for appeals lodged with county administrative boards and simplifying building regulations for student housing.

Housing construction has long been neglected in Sweden. For this reason the Swedish Government is now making housing policy a higher priority and taking several initiatives to stimulate and facilitate housing construction so that it reaches a sustainable level.
