18.2 Telephone and internet services

Diplomats and other diplomatic staff members have occasionally experienced difficulties ordering subscriptions for various kinds of services, such as telephone, TV and internet services. A non-exhaustive list of providers who have experience in supplying services to diplomats includes:

  • Telia – provides landline and broadband telephone services, mobile telephone services, internet services and television services. To order a subscription, visit a service office of the company. Specify the requested services and provide a Swedish invoicing address. The subscriber must be able to provide the ID card issued by the Protocol Department, a valid passport and a certificate of employment. No deposit is required.   • Bredband2 – provides landline and broadband telephone services, mobile telephone services, internet services and television services. Subscription includes a deposit fee of SEK 750 (SEK 4000 if a mobile telephone is included in the service), to be paid in advance. The deposit is refundable after six months. To order a subscription, call 0771 85 00 00. Specify the requested services and provide a Swedish invoicing address.
  • Bredbandsbolaget – provides landline and broadband telephone services, internet services and television services. To order a subscription, email the request to [email protected] or fax it to 0455 331315. Specify the requested services and provide a Swedish invoicing address. Enclose a copy of the subscriber's ID card, issued by the Protocol Department. No deposit is required. For further information, call 0770 777 000 (switchboard).
  • Telenor – provides telephone services via landline and broadband, as well as mobile telephone services. To order a subscription, send a request by post to Telenor Sverige AB, SE-371 80 Karlskrona. Specify the requested services and provide a Swedish invoicing address. Enclose a copy of the subscriber's ID card, issued by the Protocol Department. No deposit is required. For further information, call 020 222 222 (switchboard).
  • Com Hem – provides telephone services via landline and broadband, internet services and television services. Subscription includes a twelve month prepayment. To order a subscription, call 0771 55 00 00. Specify the requested services and provide a Swedish invoicing address. No deposit is required.
  • Canal Digital – provides television services with a wide variety of television channels. Subscription includes a deposit fee of SEK 1500, to be paid in advance. To order a subscription, call 0770 33 22 11. Specify the requested services and provide a Swedish invoicing address. The subscriber must be able to provide a copy of a valid identification, for instance a passport.

Certain services offered by the companies listed above require that the subscriber be registered in the population registry (national registration) for the purpose of invoicing, etc. A diplomatic staff member is thus not able to subscribe to that service. In such a case, the diplomatic staff member should contact another provider in the list above.
