9.2 Speed violations

In Sweden, there are speed limits up to 120 km/h. The speed should always be adjusted to suit the weather and the road conditions. Exceeding posted speed limits is considered an offence under Chapter 2, Section 2 and Chapter 14, Section 3 of the Swedish Road Traffic Ordinance (1998:1276). The punishment for exceeding a posted speed limit is a fine, and a person caught speeding also risk the withdrawal of their driving license for up to 36 months.
