Changes to the ordinance prohibiting the holding of public gatherings and events
To address the crowding that has been seen in nightclubs, the Government has decided that public dance events for more than 50 people will once again be prohibited. The Government has also adopted a new exemption from the ordinance, allowing public gatherings and public events with a maximum of 300 seated attendees, rather than the 500 previously discussed. The changes come into effect on 1 November.

Plan for the event of new outbreaks of COVID-19
The number of people falling seriously ill with COVID-19 has decreased recently, but according to the Public Health Agency of Sweden there is a risk that new local and regional outbreaks could occur in Sweden. The Public Health Agency of Sweden, the National Board of Health and Welfare, the Medical Products Agency, the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency and the county administrative boards have therefore been instructed by the Government to produce a plan for the event of new outbreaks of COVID-19.

The Government today decided to extend the entry ban until 31 August 2020. At the same time, the Government decided to ease the restrictions for more travellers. Today's decision was taken following a Council of the European Union recommendation.
