The city of Malmö

Published

The city of Malmö has extended an invitation to host the conference. The city and the surrounding region have special historical links to the Holocaust. Jews who fled across the Öresund strait between Denmark and Sweden during World War II came to Malmö. The white buses of Swedish diplomat Folke Bernadotte and the Swedish Red Cross with survivors from concentration camps were also received there. Many of these survivors stayed in Malmö for the rest of their lives.

Today, the city of Malmö is home to many religions and cultures, presenting both challenges and opportunities. Malmö is working actively to combat antisemitism and all forms of racism and so provides a suitable environment for the Forum.

The venue of the Malmö Forum is set to be Malmömässan.
