Minister for Strategic Development to celebrate 40 years of Swedish-Angolan relations and visit World Economic Forum on Africa
On 10–11 May, Minister for Strategic Development and Nordic Cooperation Kristina Persson will visit Angola's capital city, Luanda, to take part in celebrations marking 40 years of Swedish-Angolan diplomatic relations.
Government appoints delegation for Sweden’s implementation of 2030 Agenda
Today, Minister for Public Administration Ardalan Shekarabi, Minister for International Development Cooperation Isabella Lövin and Minister for Strategic Development and Nordic Cooperation Kristina Persson presents the delegation that has been instructed by the Government to support and stimulate Sweden’s implementation of the UN’s 2030 Agenda and its Global Goals for Sustainable Development. The delegation will produce an overarching action plan for Sweden’s implementation of the 2030 Agenda and draw attention to examples of best practice in the area.
State Secretary Maja Fjaestad on algorithms and their impact on society
“Algorithms in Society” is the name of a report presented at a seminar on Friday 11 March. To gain a greater understanding of algorithms and their importance to society, the Prime Minister’s Office’s Secretariat for Strategic Development for the Future tasked researchers Jutta Haider and Olof Sundin from Lund University’s Department of Arts and Cultural Sciences to find out more about algorithms and their social impact. The report was presented to State Secretary Maja Fjaestad.

Kristina Persson to attend OECD’s World Government Summit in Dubai and the launch of the global platform ‘Governance for the future’
On Monday 8 February, Minister for Strategic Development and Nordic Cooperation Kristina Persson will take part in the World Government Summit 2016. Ms Persson has been invited to give a keynote address ahead of the launch of the global platform ‘Governance for the future’, where high-level representatives from around the world will gather to discuss challenges facing governance in the future.
New Swedish environmental policy for the Arctic
The Arctic is an irreplaceable asset of local, national and global significance. We need to strengthen and improve security and environmental protection in the Arctic. Sweden will work to ensure that all development in the Arctic is environmentally sustainable. Our priorities include greater protection of biodiversity and ecosystems on land and at sea, enhanced climate efforts and sustainable use of resources.
Government to strengthen Arctic environmental policy
The Government is now strengthening the Swedish environmental policy for the Arctic. As an Arctic country with high environmental ambitions, Sweden has an important role to play internationally.
