Margot Wallström to address UN General Assembly and Security Council
Minister for Foreign Affairs Margot Wallström will visit New York on 10–12 May to speak at the high-level thematic debate in the General Assembly on peace and security, and to address the Security Council concerning terrorism.
During her visit, Ms Wallström will also host a meeting on cooperation between the United Nations and the African Union to strengthen peace and security efforts. In addition, the Minister for Foreign Affairs will speak at a number of other meetings and debates on humanitarian financing, mediation and women's participation in peace processes, the election of a new Secretary-General, and other issues.
After the visit to New York, Ms Wallström will travel to Washington DC to take part in President Obama's US-Nordic Leaders Summit.
