Prime Minister Stefan Löfven spoke today by phone with UK Prime Minister Theresa May.
Mr Löfven began by congratulating Ms May on her appointment as Prime Minister.
Both leaders emphasised the importance of continuing to develop the good bilateral relations between our countries.
Regarding the negotiations on the UK's exit from the EU, Mr Löfven stressed that the UK should not wait too long before invoking Article 50, but that he understands and respects that it needs time to make preparations.
Mr Löfven also stressed that the UK's access to the single market is contingent upon its acceptance of all the EU's four freedoms, including freedom of movement for people.
