Prime Minister receives Botswana’s President

On Monday 19 June, Prime Minister Stefan Löfven will receive Botswana’s President Seretse Khama Ian Khama in Rosenbad. Talks will focus on bilateral relations between Sweden and Botswana and how commercial exchange can increase.

Since Botswana's independence in 1966, both countries have had close and cordial relations, and share central values of democracy and respect for human rights. At the same time there is potential to develop the bilateral exchange further, mainly in the area of trade, primarily within the energy, mining, transport, information technology and defence sectors.

During his visit to Sweden, President Khama will also hold meetings with Minister for Defence Peter Hultqvist and Minister for EU Affairs and Trade Ann Linde. He will also be received by the King and Queen at the Royal Palace, as well as visit Linköping.
