Prime Minister Stefan Löfven to receive the President of the Republic of Korea

As part of the State Visit of the Republic of Korea on 14–15 June, Prime Minister Stefan Löfven will receive President Moon Jae-in for talks in Saltsjöbaden.

The Republic of Korea is Asia’s fourth largest economy and one of the world’s most innovative countries. It is also Sweden’s third largest export market in the region. Sweden and the Republic of Korea enjoy excellent relations and there is great potential for deeper cooperation, including in innovation, research, digital transformation and the creative industries. There is also potential for expanded cooperation on social welfare and labour market issues. President Moon’s social reform agenda is guided by a vision that resembles the Swedish welfare model, and Sweden’s experiences in the areas of social insurance, family policy and gender equality will be discussed.

Foreign and security policy issues and cooperation in multilateral forums will also be discussed. In conjunction with the visit, Prime Minister Stefan Löfven and President Moon will also take part in the Sweden-Korea Business Summit.
