Enhanced controls of travel documents
The Government has decided on a government bill on controls of biometric identifiers in travel documents. The bill contains proposals that would require foreign citizens, in the same way as Swedish citizens, to allow their fingerprints and a photograph to be taken on arrival and departure to control their identity and travel documents.
Age assessment earlier in asylum process
The Government has submitted a bill to the Riksdag proposing amendments to the Aliens Act that require the Swedish Migration Agency to assess a person’s age earlier in the asylum process than is the case today.
