Freedom from Oppression Government Communication on Swedish Democracy Support Comm. 2008/09:11

The Communication is intended to impart greater clarity to the Government's strategic aims and direction with respect to democracy support. This means that the Government's capacity and responsibility to guarantee individual rights and every individual's capacity to assert them should be strengthened. Particular emphasis is placed on the importance to democracy of civil and political rights.
