Minister for Employment Johan Britz will assume responsibility for climate and environment issues in the Government while Minister for Climate and the Environment Romina Pourmokhtari is on parental leave. Meanwhile, he will retain his regular responsibility for labour market policy.

The appointment will cover the duration of Ms Pourmokhtari’s absence. This means that in addition to serving as Minister for Employment, Mr Britz will also be the Acting Minister for Climate and the Environment.
Ms Pourmokhtari will remain a Minister in the Government, but without any areas of responsibility during her absence. No changes will be made with respect to her state secretaries and political staff, who will work for Mr Britz during this period.
The formal decision to assign Mr Britz temporary responsibility for climate and environment issues will be announced by Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson in connection with the beginning of Ms Pourmokhtari’s absence.
