Same Education Board (Sameskolstyrelsen)

The task of the Sami Education Board is to provide Sami children with a Sami-oriented education and to contribute to preserving and developing the Sami language and the Sami culture. This education is offered at Sami schools and in integrated Sami education at municipal compulsory schools. The Sami Education Board is the governing body for the Sami schools and associated activities. The Sami Education Board is also to promote and develop material for teaching. In addition, it is to provide information about Sami schools and Sami education in the national school system.
