The Royal Opera

As a national venue, the Royal Opera is to offer a varied repertoire featuring a good balance between traditional pieces, innovative interpretations and interdisciplinary modern works. The Royal Opera is also to be at the highest level when it comes to development, renewal, artistic quality and craftsmanship in its studios and workshops. Gustav III founded the Opera, and it has always had close ties with the Swedish State. Since 1975, it has operated as a state-owned limited company.
