Published

On Thursday 22 May, Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade Benjamin Dousa hosted a business seminar on Moldova. The event in Stockholm aimed to give Swedish businesses deep insight into Moldova’s economic and political development and investment opportunities.

“Swedish businesses have a lot to offer Moldova in strategically important areas such as green energy, infrastructure and IT. Moldova’s rapid pace of reform and progress towards EU membership provide excellent conditions for increased trade with Sweden, to which I hope this seminar will contribute,” says Mr Dousa.

Participants at the seminar had the opportunity to share their experiences, make valuable contacts and explore new forms of cooperation. Among those in attendance were Moldova’s Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Doina Nistor, the Director of the government agency Invest Moldova and representatives of approximately 50 Swedish businesses, organisations and government agencies.

Through its extensive reform cooperation with Moldova, Sweden supports numerous projects that contribute to the country’s growth and the possibility of exporting to Sweden and the EU. An example of this is the National Board of Trade helping Moldovan IT and agricultural companies gain a foothold in the EU single market.
