Swedish Coast Guard

The Swedish Coast Guard is tasked with conducting maritime surveillance and carrying out rescue services in peacetime, times of heightened state of alert and war.

Rescue services entail maintaining preparedness for and carrying out environmental rescue services, as well as carrying out other rescue services at sea on request. Maritime surveillance involves monitoring maritime environments and providing maritime information to relevant government agencies. It also includes law enforcement and maintaining public order at sea, such as controls and supervision.

The Swedish Coast Guard has well-developed cooperation both domestically and internationally.
