Prime Minister, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Defence on their way to NATO Summit in Ankara

The Ankara Summit will bring together heads of state and government of all NATO Allies against the backdrop of a serious security situation. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte has identified three main issues on the Summit’s agenda: the follow-up to the defence expenditure commitment made at last year’s NATO Summit in The Hague, support to Ukraine and a stronger defence industry. 

Sweden’s priorities are a continued orderly burden shift (which means a stronger Europe in a stronger NATO), strengthened collective defence and continued strong support to Ukraine. 

Press conferences in Ankara

The Swedish Government will hold two press conferences during the Summit. 

• On Tuesday 7 July at 11.00 local time (10.00 CET), Mr Kristersson and Mr Jonson will hold a press conference in connection with the NATO Industry Forum in Ankara. The press conference will be held in English. It will be available afterwards on government.se and on the Government Offices’ YouTube channel and provisionally also be live streamed.
  
  
• On Wednesday 8 July at 15.45 local time (14.45 CET), Mr Kristersson, Ms Malmer Stenergard and Mr Jonson will hold a joint press conference. The press conference, which will be held in Swedish, will be live streamed on government.se, via NATO and on the Government Offices’ YouTube channel.
