The present strategy will govern Sweden's development cooperation with Burundi during the period 2009-2012. The strategy is based on the Swedish policy for global development, the Government's policy for international development cooperation, Burundi’s poverty reduction
strategy and the UN Peacebuilding Commission's Strategic Framework for Burundi.
