Charlotte Kugelberg appointed new Head of the Permanent Mission of Sweden to the United Nations

Ms Kugelberg currently serves as State Secretary at the Ministry of Justice. Previously, she was Director-General for Legal Affairs and Head of the Legal Secretariat at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs. She has also served as Director-General for Administrative Affairs at the Ministry of Employment. Prior to that, she was Senior Judge at Nacka District Court in Stockholm. Ms Kugelberg has also been Administrative Director for the Director General for Legal Affairs at the Prime Minister’s Office, Deputy Head of Department at the Ministry of Justice and has worked at the Svea Court of Appeal.

Ms Kugelberg will take up her new position in the second half of 2026.
