Minister for Defence Pål Jonson to receive Luxembourg’s defence minister at Karlberg Palace

On Friday 23 May, Minister for Defence Pål Jonson will meet with Luxembourg’s Minister of Defence Yuriko Backes at Karlberg Palace for bilateral discussions. Photojournalists are welcome to attend the formal ceremony and the beginning of the bilateral discussions.
Practical information: Advance registration by 15.00 on Tuesday 20 May via email to Niklas Forsström (see press contact below). Submit your name, editorial office, personal identity number and press credentials. You must also state whether you intend to attend the formal ceremony and photo opportunity at the bilateral discussions. Advance registration is required to attend the bilateral discussion, and you must arrive at 9.25 at the latest to submit to a security check. If you are not a Swedish citizen, you must also provide a copy of your passport when registering.
The meeting will begin with a formal ceremony outside Karlberg Palace with ceremonial military honours by the guard of honour and the national anthem.
Mr Jonson and Ms Backes will discuss regional security, support to Ukraine, the transatlantic link and the EU’s White Paper for European Defence – Readiness 2030.
Early Friday morning, Ms Backes will also meet with Minister for Infrastructure and Housing Andreas Carlson.
