Palestinian ambassador presents letter of credence

Today, four foreign ambassadors presented their letters of credence to HM The King. One of the ambassadors, Ms Hala Husni Fariz Odeh, represents the State of Palestine, which was recently recognised by Sweden.
The Government recognised the State of Palestine in October last year. And so today, for the first time, a Palestinian ambassador was received in a formal audience with HM The King to present a letter of credence.
Presenting letters of credence to Sweden's head of state is necessary for a newly arrived ambassador to be able to perform his or her duties and have official contacts with Swedish authorities.
