Jessika Roswall visited Faroe Islands for Nordic Council Theme Session

On 8–9 April, Minister for EU Affairs Jessika Roswall represented the Swedish Presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers at the Nordic Council Theme Session.

“The vision of the Nordic region being the world’s most integrated and sustainable region by 2030 is guiding the Swedish Presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers this year. We will continue our efforts to make the Nordic region a leader in the green transition, and a globally competitive and socially sustainable region,” says Ms Roswall. 

Ms Roswall’s activities at the Theme Session included a meeting with the Presidium of the Nordic Council and a panel discussion on future Nordic transport and infrastructure cooperation. Ms Roswall also met with Prime Minister of the Faroe Islands Aksel V. Johannesen, Minister for Nordic Cooperation Bjarni K. Petersen and Faroese and Swedish companies focusing on energy supply and sustainability.

 

 

Facts about the Nordic Council of Ministers

The Nordic Council of Ministers is the official body for intergovernmental cooperation in the Nordic region. The Council works for joint Nordic solutions in areas where the Nordic countries can achieve better results through cooperation rather than tackling them individually.

On 1 January 2024, Sweden took over the Presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers.
