Nordic Defence Industry Seminar in Stockholm

Sweden hosted a Nordic Defence Industry Seminar, NDIS 2018, in Stockholm on 22 to 24 May 2018. The focus of the seminar was “Ensuring Future Capabilities – Nordic Armaments Cooperation in a Competitive and International Context”. The NDIS 2018 event included seminars and panel discussions with various perspectives on Nordic armaments cooperation. The seminar is organised every two years within the framework of Nordic defence cooperation (NORDEFCO).

NDIS 2018 was arranged by the Ministry of Defence, Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) and Swedish Security and Defence Industry Association (SOFF). Key note speakers included State Secretary to the Minister for Defence Jan Salestrand and the Nordic National Armament Directors. The seminar is a platform that brings defence industry and government agencies together to share lessons learned and experiences.

The main aim and purpose of the Nordic Defence Cooperation (NORDEFCO) is to strengthen the participating nations defence, explore common synergies and facilitate efficient common solutions.
