Prime Minister Stefan Löfven to meet German Chancellor Angela Merkel

On 25 February, Prime Minister Stefan Löfven will travel to meet German Chancellor Angela Merkel. The Prime Minister’s trip to Berlin will also include visits to the startup lab ‘Factory Berlin’, the Berlin Wall and the Jewish Museum, and a walk along the historic route to ‘Tunnel 57’. Mr Löfven will also meet with Vice Chancellor Sigmar Gabriel.

Accreditation is required for all programme points and is issued by the Swedish Embassy in Berlin.

12.00 Arrival at the Federal Chancellery, where Mr Löfven will be met by Chancellor Merkel.

14.00 Visit to the Factory Berlin startup lab.

15.00 Mayor of Berlin Michael Müller (SPD) and Director of the Berlin Wall Foundation Prof. Dr Axel Klausmeier will arrive at the watchtower on Strelizer Strasse, to then walk the historic route to Tunnel 57, where Mr Ralph Kabisch, one of the men who helped dig the tunnel, will share his personal narrative.

The outdoor programme will be concluded by laying roses at the Berlin Wall Memorial at Ackerstrasse.

16.00 Visit to the Jewish Museum.

17.00 Meeting with Vice Chancellor Sigmar Gabriel at Willy-Brandt-Haus.

Accreditation is required. Applications must be received by the Swedish Embassy in Berlin no later than 10.00 on 23 February.

The Embassy will arrange transportation for Swedish journalists between the programme points. A detailed press programme will be provided following registration.
