9.6 Human trafficking

To ensure the well-being and tolerable living and working conditions for all persons in Sweden, the Swedish criminal law protection against human trafficking includes the exploitation of individuals for the use of forced labour or services. Chapter 4, Section 1a of the Swedish Penal Code criminalizes the recruitment, transportation, transferring, harbouring or receipt of human beings by improper means for the purpose of exploiting them.
